I was so excited when our friends at Sweet Dixie asked to have our soaps in their new shop!!!
How awesome is that?
This local gift shop features Virginia made products including foods, pottery, jewelry, oyster knives, and much more!
Our friends from Bay Candle Co. have some lovely candles in the shop!
I mean...how creative is this?
We'll be delivering more soap tomorrow!
And new stuff comes in all the time!
We just heard that our friend Bruce Hanson has some of his lovely pottery pieces there too! Such lovely pieces from a talented local artist!
Located at 8 West Bank Street in Olde Towne Petersburg, this great shop is owned by the same lovely family that owns the Dixie Restaurant, home of the famous Dixie Dog!! You may recognize the building if you're local! It's the former home of Second Hand Rose, next to the "pool place" and across from Longstreet's Deli! Honestly, this is my favorite building in Petersburg!
So, when you're trying to find those last minute gifts think and shop local! Right here in Petersburg! Then, swing by for lunch at the Dixie!
Thanks for supporting The Daily Scrub and Sweet Dixie this holiday season and throughout the year!

A handmade holiday event!
On Saturday we participated in the Richmond Craft Mafia's Handmade Holiday Craft Show! We arrived and setup was smooth and organized! I was so grateful to have Dynamo with me! Without him I would be lost!
What an awesome experience! This show really isn't your Grandma's craft show!
It really is amazing to see all of the unique creativity that fills the room at these events! From re-purposing to screenprinting to baby clothes and toys to handmade journals and scarves and beyond!!
My neighbor made wallets and pouches from recycled bike tires! She also made cycling caps! Super cool! She also has two Boston Terriers and a Boxer!
More good stuff!
The event was held at Richmond's Dogtown Dance Theatre! This venue isn't really on the beaten path, but boy did the crowds show up! And, they shopped and shopped! We were busy from start to end! I think it was this busy all day!
We can't thank all of you enough for your support and encouragement at this event and all throughout the year! Thank you so much for being loyal and believing in our products! And, thank you for shopping local this holiday season!

Tree Hunting
We loaded up! Yes, We!
And headed to Zuni Tree and Alpaca Farm! I had never gone and cut down my own tree! So, Dynamo said we were going to have the experience!
We walked and looked...
And looked some more...
Charlie thought it was fun to play!
We even saw this cool bird's nest made with pine needles and plastic bags!
There they give you a nice cart and a saw!
We examined them all closely and narrowed down our selections!
And examined some more...
Yup...that's the one!
Charlie agreed with the decision!
Ta da!
Now...time to cut!
Charlie wanted to help!
I can only imagine what he was thinking!
And, off we went to checkout!
Everyone was so friendly and happy! It is such a lovely time of year!
They stuck it in the needle shaker offer thing!
Then they wrapped it up tight with netting!
And, into the 4 Runner it went! All 10 ft!
We stopped at mom and dad's on the way back for some brunswick stew and grilled cheese!
Then headed home to trim, give a fresh cut, and get all set up!
Ta Da!
Such a lovely sparkling tree!
That we picked out ourselves!
And decorated special!
With pinecones from our adventures!
What a lovely day together! I enjoyed our time together so much! And we ended up with the most beautiful tree ever! To go with our lighted house that Dynamo worked so hard to light up!
We are ready for Santa! Are you?
