Mountain Bike Monday - Cannon Ball Boy!
Charlie does love to ride! Last Wednesday we hit the open road at the Battlefield for a couple of loops! When we were finished Dynamo said, "Hey, let's take a pic of Charlie inside the cannon!"
He got in there and just waited patiently for us to take his pic! He's so agreeable!
He looked around and was like, "What's this thing?" Then, we tested his balance!
Is the circus hiring?
Trick dog huh? Then, we tried to take individual pics and a group pic!
There I go cutting heads off again!
He was kinda squirmy!
The Battlefield is so peaceful!
Never a big crowd or noise. Just quiet riding!
The little prince gets his water once we're loaded up!
He loves to hang out the back window while we're packing up!
And, check out that tongue!!
Our night was great together! We always have great rides as a family!
And, I was so excited to try out my new shoes! Finally!! After 3 years of riding in borrowed shoes (thanks for sharing, Dynamo), I got my own pair! True love is sharing your shoes with the love of your life's stinky feet!
They came on Thursday and they fit like a glove!
They are Keens! I love Keens! We have several pairs between us and they are great shoes! Dynamo found a great deal at Sierra Trading. They were on sale from $130 to $58! It was a must have situation!!!
So, we headed back to the Battlefield on Sunday to hit the multi-use trails/bike trails so I could try them out!
When we stepped out of the car it was 100 degrees! HOT! And, let's just say from the moment we started I felt awful!
I felt like a snail! But, we still enjoyed the scenery!
The trails there are mostly multi-use, so they are pretty wide. There was evidence of horse usage, but we didn't see anyone! I think everyone else was smart and stayed inside!
There were bridges to cross!
At one point we were out in the really hot sun and it was icky!
But, it's hard to believe that the battlefield is in the middle of all sorts of development. It's a hidden gem!
After the short sunny section, we were back in the woods!
I really hate butt photos, but it is a good way to show perspective!
The trail was pretty as it ran along the creek!
There are lots more trails for us to explore, but not on such a hot day! I mean, look at my face!
When we got back to the car, the temperature was 103!! YIKES!!
Oh, did I mention that Dynamo forgot his shoes, so he rode in flip flops? Now, that's talent!!
It was good even though hot! We had a nice time! My shoes are great! It's truly amazing what proper shoe fit will do for your ride!
