Our "tradition" for the 4th still changes every year since we had kids of our own. But it seems like rain in the afternoon and a humid, muggy night is a Virginia 4th of July tradition. I can't remember a single 4th that didn't involve at least one short shower.
When I think of 4th of July, I think of cook-outs, water balloon fights and waiting until it gets dark enough to start lighting off all the illegel fireworks we had. Good times!!

I would love to win your 4th of July giveaway. Our family tradition is to join the fun in our downtown and watch the Parade. People we go to church with and rub shoulders with in the community are in the parade in cars, motorcycles, horses, bicycles, tractors you name it and it has been in the parade. Then we trade off between my mom or sisters home and have a big BB que and then watch the fireworks at the park. It is what we have done for years and it is tradition. Love the 4th!
Now that I have a little boy, 4th of July means trying to get him to like Fireworks. In 2008 when he was 3 we took him to see the local Fireworks display and as soon as they started booming he was crying and screaming to get back in the car and leave. When we got home, we had the worst thunderstorm complete with booming thunder and lots of lightning, so that didn't help matters. Last year we couldn't even convince him to get in the car to go see Fireworks, but we did manage to watch some on TV, which he enjoyed!
