I'm ready!
They loaded the bikes, the trailer, and me and we went for a ride at the Petersburg National Battlefield! This was my first real ride!
I couldn't wait to hit the open road with my folks!
Mom rode behind us at first. It was like she was chasing me!
We saw lots of runners and some bikers at the park! We all shared the same lane, which was a really big bike lane.
Mom and Dad said that the cars can only go one way.
I think pulling me was extra work on my dad. They said it added something like 35 pounds! WOW! Mom laughs and says that's dad's strength training!
Either way...I'm glad I get to go with them every now and then!
I fell asleep after the first 8 miles. The breeze and the hum of the wheels put me right to sleep dreaming of bones! Mom and Dad just kept pedaling!
It really was a lovely night for a ride.
The Battlefield is pretty peaceful. Not much going on. There are quite a few hills to climb up and a few monuments.
Of course there is some wildlife to see!
When we got back to the car Dad said we had done about 15 miles. I worked so hard sleeping while they were sweating! Mom had to pull me out of my chariot. We walked around the Visitor's Center area.
They gave me some water and then we loaded up!
Off we go...until next time!
I think I like this riding thing. And, I love my Chariot!
