On our way to the Battlefield to ride yesterday, we stopped to save this little guy! I was so excited to see a critter out! Spring is here!
It was a little cool and overcast for our Sunday spin, but we had a great time anyways. We explored a few new parts of the Battlefield and encountered this old spring. We were flying past when over to the right we saw stairs leading downward to nowhere. It was like they just disappeared into the water.
It was really neat! We went down the stairs to check it out.
Here's the plaque...
So many interesting things to see. It's hard to believe that was constructed so many years ago and is still there today.
Back on our bikes, I was practicing my photography skills and balancing.
Talk about a closeup...
We did quite a bit of spinning. I think it's fair to say we know the Battlefield pretty well. Still not like we know Poco, though!
The picture of the grass is all I could get of this itty bitty baby dear. We were riding on the Tour Road, when we look off to the right and there was the littlest baby we'd ever seen. It was hardly able to walk and had spots all over. It really was a real life Bambi! I tried to snap a pic, but it kept hiding from me. It was so tiny. It really is spring time!
We had a great time riding. This coming Saturday is the Cap 2 Cap ride. We're looking forward to a nice time with our friends! Hope your weekend was wonderful!
