Scrapping the last of Christmas

I'm pretty proud of myself for going ahead and getting my Christmas scrapping finished up already...and, it's not even mid-January yet! Hooray!!! Now, if I can do this good all year long, I'll have a great book for 2011!

Mountain Bike Monday - A cold crawl

Yesterday was cold. Yesterday we rode. Yesterday I was slow. It felt like I had lead in my tires and like I was crawling along.

The lake was frozen over at the park!

The trails were frozen and crunchy, so the riding was just right. We warmed up quickly riding some fire roads to get to the trail head. On the trail it certainly wasn't my best ride, but I got through it...I ended up getting in about 11 miles.

It was mid-30s out today with 15-20 mph winds, supposedly! It was certainly chilly if you stopped for any amount of time.

We had a little technical difficulty, but got back on track after some tweaking! I must admit that anytime we have some bike issues, I do learn from them.

Overall, it was good to be outside, to get fresh air, to be with Dynamo and MBM, and get some exercise. I'm just grateful that those two are very patient, especially when I have a slow day!

Preserving Christmas

I can't tell you how many pictures we take at Christmas and every holiday we celebrate. This Christmas I decided that I was definitely going to preserve our memories by scrapping them. As I finish up the pages I'll share them with y'all.

Mom and I on Christmas Eve...

I love old colorful record covers, so I've been trying to incorporate them into my art. This was the result. The wording was perfect for a Christmas Eve page.

Hopefully the closeups will show you the random stitching I did with my sewing machine. You know how I love to add stitching to stuff!

And, I found some great embellishments on sale after Christmas at JoAnn Fabric! They were K&Company (I love that stuff)!!!

Did I tell you how very much I love Stampin' Up!'s Christmas Designer Series Paper! Deck the Halls and Jolly Holiday ROCK!!!! It's almost too beautiful to use!

More sewing and embellishments with the Jolly Holiday paper! Of course I had to add some vintage sheet music too!

Lovely Congratulations

Dynamo and I attended an engagement party over the weekend for some friends, and this was the card I made. As you can tell, I used my circle punch and the heart-to-heart punch! The cardstock is textured elegant eggplant and cranberry crush. I also used Jolly Holiday DSP. The sentiment is a portion of a jumbo Valentine's Wheel from Stampin' Up! I don't particularly care for the wheels as they come, so Dynamo makes me beautiful wooden blocks and I remount the wheels as regular stamps. I got the idea from Mary Fish, another demonstrator. She has an entire tutorial on her site about how to do this.

40th Anniversary Calendar

So, I've had Stampin' Up!'s My Digital Studio (MDS) for a while now, but haven't had the patience or time to play around with the features enough to decide how much I like the digital scrapbooking thing. I decided to sit down and work on a project for my parents' 40th Anniversary, which is today! My Momma is always making calendars for everyone else, so I thought making them a calendar of their very own would be a good gift to celebrate 40 years together!

Remember, this is my first effort!

I printed the pages on Stampin' UP!'s confetti white cardstock and then bound them using my Zutter Bind-it-All! The Zutter is a very awesome tool! I'd recommend getting one. You can bind all sizes of albums.

You have the ability with the MDS program to add embellishments and journaling, as well as make notations on the different dates. The quality of the project might have been sharper if I'd used photo paper, but I really like the matte finish of the cardstock, along with its thickness. After I printed it, I distressed the edges to frame the photos better. I was pleased!

Momma and Daddy really liked the calendar! I'm excited about experimenting more with the MDS program.
