My favorite parts about Christmas have changed over the years. When I was a child, it was the anticipation of opening my gifts that was very exciting. And then after getting my gifts, it was fun to visit all my friends in the neighborhood to compare gifts.

As I grew older, I started to enjoy shopping for gifts for my family. During high school, my friends and I would go to Tysons Corner every night of the week during the shopping season to try to figure out the perfect gift to buy our families.

Nowadays, I think I most enjoy relaxing with family. No doubt I still get joy over giving and receiving gifts, but I think it is the time together that I most enjoy now.

I would be remiss if I also did not mention that I truly enjoy the extra time off from work. Working in the school system, we get several days off and it is really nice to have nothing planned and just relax with Melissa and do what we want to do. I think I like that the best.

I am not sure what I would do with your door prize so if you pick me, choose again so someone else can put the prize to good use.

Just like Jim said, my favorite part about Christmas has changed over the years, from all the excitement of being around lots of family and opening gifts as a child to now watching my own little boy discover the magic of Christmas as well as teaching him that it's Jesus' birthday and about giving rather than receiving. I love giving gifts and the element of surprise too.

My favorite part was always window shopping in the malls where everything is decorated like crazy and the Christmas music is playing everywhere...And since you don't have to buy anything when you're window shopping--NO STRESS! Who cares about lines or waiting or parking spaces? You get to be so relaxed.

Being home for several days is my favorite part now, too, though.
