So, here we are at the start....
And, with our #1 fan, Dynamo (courtesy of Instagram)...
Missy and I have been training for weeks for the 59 mile ride in and around Richmond. Saturday was the day of the big ride!
We lined up at the start...
After a beautiful National Anthem where all riders removed their helmets in unison, we were off...
There we go in the distance...
This ride was not a race. It was a for fun kind of ride. We enjoyed the scenery and chatted!
It was beautiful!
Yes. I was riding and snapping pics...
You know me...
And, if you thought that Richmond was flat think again!
It was a glorious day for a ride.
Excuse my arm in this pic...
The moo cows were cooling themselves...
Here we are coming into one of the aid stations. Dynamo was there waiting for us!
Check out this adorable little girl hanging out at the aid station...
Dynamo snapped some great pics of the race!
Look...we're even smiling after many miles!
Only one mishap was my flat tire at mile 40. Missy and I got it started and called Dynamo to come help. He was our personal pit crew! Not spoiled at all :)
The ride was fantastic! As we rounded the corner coming into the Richmond Raceway, we saw our fans!
We felt like stars!!
We did it! 59 miles!!
Marioochee, Elise, Dynamo, and Jim were there to cheer us across the line!
What a great time with my friend, Missy! Those are the best kinds of rides....together!
And, when we got home, my parents snapped this pic of me with my 2 biggest fans!
Dynamo was so proud of me! I was proud of myself! It was a great day!
