more valentines wishes

I just can't get enough of the teal/red combo! It just goes so well together! I loved it so much that when Dynamo built me my gorgeous cabinet/bookcase for my craft room a while back, I painted it black and red and then accented it with these gorgeous teal drawer pulls from Anthropologie!

Valentine's Day is so wonderful! It's only a few days away! Have you gotten your sweetie a gift yet?

The gold foil looking stuff is actually a doily! I picked up a whole bunch of them a while back at the thrift store.
So...here's another card...

On both of these cards, I used the new rub-ons from Stampin' Up! for Valentine's Day! Super cute!

And...I love the letter stickers! They are fun to mix and match types and fonts.

Love Birds

Ah, don't you just love Maya Mists? It's oh so shimmery! I recently got some Maya Resist and used it to write the words "Love Birds" on the page. There's a tutorial here on this great stuff! I also used a mix of JBS Mercantile and Stampin' Up products (full heart punch, elegant eggplant cardstock, melon mambo cardstock, and antique brads), along with some thrifted lace.

Birthday queen

My niece turned 21 recently, so this was the card I made for her. This card is actually a little larger than I usually make, which I like. There's more surface to work with. I think it's about 5x7 or so. I wanted it to be sophisticated because 21 is a big year! I used mostly Stampin' Up! goodies including: chocolate chip, very vanilla, and cherry cobbler cardstocks, artistic etchings stamp set, cherry cobbler and chocolate chip classic stampin' pads, and deck the halls designer series paper.

The "happy birthday" sentiment is from Close to My Heart.  The lace and sheet music are thrifted items.

A birthday card for Amy

Here's the birthday card I made for my sister-in-law, Amy! Today is her birthday!

Materials Used:

Stampin' Up! - very vanilla cardstock, brocade blue cardstock, not quite navy classic stampin pad and cardstock, happy everything stamp set

JBS Mercantile - storybook printed designer paper, frame die cut sticker, paper button

Thrifted - scrabble letter tiles, vintage green trim tape

A small pillow

This little pillow could be a tooth fairy pillow or just a small accent pillow. I made this for my adopted niece. Her sister was getting gifts for her birthday, so I wanted to be sure she was included too! Inside the pocket I stuck a bright orange thrift store necklace. I was wearing a red $1 thrift store necklace the last time we saw them and the girls each wanted one. I told them I would be on the hunt at the thrift store for two. I found them! Jackpot! My other niece got a purple one.

I love blue glass...

I bought these old bottles at the thrift store a short while ago. I LOVE old glass...especially colored glass. These are old Phillips Milk of Magnesia bottles. What a find!!!! I had 4 of them and they were just sitting in my window, but they needed something! The glass is just so beautiful when the light shines through! How can you not love the old colored glass? I jazzed them up a bit! I had some lavender that I had just dried, so I put that in the bottles and got to work on some tags using a mix of old goodies and new goodies! Enjoy!

Thank you Friday!

This is a quick thank you card using Rich Razzleberry textured cardstock from Stampin' Up! as the base. I used assorted SU colors to make the flower. Simply cut random sized circles and then distress the edges with a distresser tool (you can also use an emory board) to make the aged/worn look. Put them together with a designer rhinestone brad. The leaves are from the new stamp set Awash with Flowers from SU. The fabric is ribbon I found in a grab bag at the local thrift store, which I sewed on. I just love stitching on cards! Happy Friday!
