celebrating 5 and 8 together!

randjjefferson2007

Dynamo and I celebrated 5 years married and 8 years together on Saturday! I can't believe how fast time does fly. You know what they say about time flying when you're having fun? Well, it's the truth. We've had a wonderful time together. Each year gets better and better. In the end if you know you have each other then that's all you need. No matter what you go through, if you do it together you will make it.

I have to tell you a story about the picture above. It was our wedding night. We pulled up to the Jefferson Hotel in Richmond. The valet helped me out of the car (I was stuffed into that car with my wedding dress overflowing onto the dashboard). The bellman walked us inside and I asked if he could take our picture on the big staircase. It was my dream to have our picture in our wedding garb on those steps. As we walked to the steps we noticed a large party was going on below. Everyone started staring at us. As the bellman was taking our photo another hotel guy shooed us off the steps saying that there was another bride who was supposed to be making her entrance soon. Oops! The bellman just smiled and took us to checkin telling us not to worry. I kinda felt bad for confusing all those people. They probably were thinking that the bride and groom they were looking for were a lot different than us? But...in the end we got the picture and we'll cherish it forever!

Long before the wedding day, Dynamo proposed to me! It was a proposal like you see on television. Yes, there's even a commercial about it today! I'm sure you've seen it.

Well, Dynamo surprised me and took me to the neigborhood where our condo (first home together) was being built. I thought we were going there to meet up with our friends from Richmond to show them our new future home! When we got there, he got out of the car and was wandering around. I thought something was a little odd. Lexi and I were in the car (after all this was January so it was a little cold). All of a sudden he comes to my car window and he has this little piece of paper with a poem that he wrote. He's reading me this beautiful poem and at the end he said, "look up in the sky to erase the wonder why..." As I stepped out of the car and looked up there was a plane flying overhead with this banner....

It was amazing!! Unlike the TV commercial, the pilot saw us and circled the area several times. It was pretty awesome! Then, my parents came around the corner with a bottle of champagne and glasses for us! It was so magical. I felt like a princess. Dynamo has always treated me like his princess. I'm honored to be his wife. I'm honored to be his soulmate. I'm honored to be his helpmate. When I count my blessings, I put Dynamo at the top of my list. God had a wonderful plan for me and it included Dynamo and his wonderful family. God is good!
